Dear families,

We’re so excited to announce that we have begun using a digital family tool that allows you to engage in two-way communication with us in real time through the MyTeachingStrategies® Family mobile app. This tool creates a virtual conversation that you, additional family members, and your child’s teachers can all contribute to. It is our hope that opening up this line of two-way communication allows you to feel more connected and informed while your child is in school or engaged in distance learning.

In addition, we will be sharing resources through the MyTeachingStrategies® Family mobile app that are meant to help you easily facilitate learning and extend classroom learning at home. These resources range from At-Home Guided Learning Plans that offer activities aligned with the current study we are implementing, to individual activities we want to share based on your child’s current knowledge, skills, and abilities. We ask that you take pictures and record videos of the activities you do with your child in action and share them with us through the app so we can better inform our instruction and assessment!

To use this family communication tool, you will need to have the most recent version of the MyTeachingStrategies® Family mobile app. The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We recommend watching this short video from Teaching Strategies that gives an overview of how to get set up, as well as how to access the communication feature and shared resources. If you do not yet have a MyTeachingStrategies® Family account, follow these instructions on how to get set up. If you already have the app, you can install the most recent update by visiting your device’s app store.

Nos complace anunciar que hemos comenzado a utilizar una herramienta digital para las familias que permite entablar una comunicación bidireccional con nosotros en tiempo real a través de la aplicación móvil MyTeachingStrategies® para la familia. Esta herramienta crea una conversación virtual a la que usted, otros miembros de la familia y los maestros de su hijo pueden contribuir. Esperamos que la apertura de esta línea de comunicación bidireccional le permita sentirse más conectado e informado mientras su hijo está en la escuela o participa en el aprendizaje a distancia.
