Device Insurance Program
What happens in the event of accidental damage, loss or theft?
The VASD offers an insurance program called the Device Insurance Program, and it is available for students in grades 6-12 (and K-5 if they opt to take the device home). Enrolling in the program protects you in the event of accidental damage, loss or theft. By enrolling in the program, the maximum liability is $ 100.00 per incident for iPads and $60 for Chromebooks (for example if you student breaks their headphone jack and the cost is $60 you would be responsible for it all. If your student breaks their devices LCD and the repair cost is $180 you would only be responsible for $100 or $60 depending on the device). If you are fee exempt and opt to share that information, the maximum liability is $ 25.00 per incident.
