Health Services
The Verona Area School District Health Services team is composed of School Nurses and Health Assistants.
School Nurses are members of the Integrated Student Services Team and each VASD school is served by a School Nurse. The School Nurse manages chronic and acute health needs of students throughout the school day, collaborates with school staff and community providers, and provides education to staff, students, and families. VASD School Nurses hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or higher.
Health Assistants provide care for ill and injured students, assist with clerical activities, and perform delegated nursing activities under the clinical supervision of the school nurse. VASD Health Assistants are CPR certified and frequently have formal training or certification in the healthcare field.
