      Blended Learning Lifeguard Training Course 

      Pre-requisites: Ages 15 & up
      Preliminary work is required.

      Take this course and become an American Red Cross certified lifeguard. Individuals must complete Preliminary work and pass a skill test that includes the following:  

      Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.

      Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.

      Complete a timed event within 1 min, 40 seconds.

      Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. 

      Jr. Lifeguarding 

      Pre-requisites: Ages 11-14.

      This course guides youth ages 11 – 14 into Red Cross Lifeguarding.

      Learn how to prevent drowning and diving accidents, First Aid, CPR and AED, reaching & throwing assists, self-rescue, providing care for injuries, leadership skills, develop swimming skills and general physical fitness for lifeguarding responsibilities.

      To enroll participants should have Level 5 or equivalent swimming skills.
