Verona Area School District

Dr. Hawkins oversees PreK-12 academics, including bilingual literacy, equity leadership, and technology services.  She draws upon more than 25 years of experience in both urban and suburban schools to lead VASD's academic services team. 

Adam has more than 20 years of education experience and brings to VASD a strong equity focus. He has served as a successful teacher, behavior coach, district school improvement partner, and building principal.

Dr. Romero-Johnson is an educational administrator, leader, and advocate in the field of dual language education and English language learners. She has led district transformation on behalf of multilingual learners from deficit to asset-based effective programs and supports.

Jason supports the district informational technology team to create safe and sustainable district hardware, software, and infrastructure; the instructional technology team to coach around best practices in implementing classroom technologies.

Karyn supports the middle schools and high school to design and implement School Improvement Plans aligned to equity-centered strategies. She began her career as a high school English teacher, serving students in urban and suburban schools over the course of 17 years.
