To provide all VAHS students with the access to rigorous coursework and the opportunity to explore career pathways to prepare them for their post secondary plans. Our efforts are strategic in order to ensure our formerly marginalized students have equitable access to opportunities they were once systemically denied. 

 

Goals:

• develop staff capacity to intentionally design instruction to include Critical Reading Strategies to ensure our students secure disciplinary literacy skills.
  
  
• support students in developing an individualized learning plan to connect classroom learning with student's identity and future goals.
  
  
• gather evidence of student and staff voice to develop social emotional opportunities to ensure students feel seen, heard, and have a sense of belonging
  .
• ensure families have access to VAHS and provide resources for academic and career planning, wellness, and sense of belonging
  
  
• Implement Professional Learning Community practices that encourage alignment of shared values and beliefs, reflection on teaching and learning practices, and student growth and achievement.
