Time Off/Leave of Absence

Time Off Allocations

Hourly Employees:

Employees scheduled for a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week shall be eligible for paid general leave. Employees qualify for the full complement of allocated days of general leave per year on the first day of July each year, or, for school year employees, on the first work day of each school term.

Teacher Unit:

Employees who are at least .50 FTE shall be eligible for paid general leave. Employees qualify for the full complement of allocated days of general leave per year on the first day of July each year or, for school year employees, on the first day of each school term.

12-Month Employees:

Employees who work 12-months are eligible for vacation time, in addition to general leave. Employees qualify for the full complement of allocated vacation days on the first day of July each year.

Leaving the District:

If an employee leaves the District before the end of their assigned number of employment days, their time off allocations will be pro-rated (reduced) based on the number of days actually worked. Any remaining accrued time off may be paid out based on guidelines found in the Employee Handbook.

Employees hired after their start date, shall have their time off allocation prorated based on the number of remaining days in their assignment. Employees who do not work the same number of hours on each workday shall have their leave eligibility determined by the average number of hours per day calculated on a weekly basis. Part-time employees shall receive general leave allocations prorated per their FTE.

Time off requests should be entered into Skyward prior to the absence being taken. More information specifically about General Leave and uses for General Leave can be found in Section 8 of the Employee Handbook.
