18 to 21-Year-Old Transition Program

Verona Area High School students who take part in the Verona Area High School functional vocational program can qualify for the 18 to 21-year-old transition program and learn real world job skills.

Watch this short video to learn about the program.

The passage of the Individuals with Disabilities Act in 1990 mandated school districts to provide transition services for students with disabilities to improve post–school success.
These work skills are transferable into their life as they leave the transition program to go out on their own. Students are presently employed at a variety of places in the community including Kwik Trip, Hill Electric, Sugar River Pizza, Miller’s Grocery Store and MORE!

For more information on the transition program or if you desire to bring a student to your business as an employee while teaching them work and life skills, contact Krista Kasten at 608-848-2499 or kastenk@verona.k12.wi.us.
