When our new superintendent, Dr. Tremayne Clardy, joined us on January 5, he issued a letter that briefly outlined his commitments as he enters his new role. The attached Superintendent's Entry Update (provided in English and Spanish) is intended to provide you with a summary of his recent activities and planned next steps moving forward.

One of the many commitments that he has fulfilled is the hiring of a new Assistant Superintendent of Business Services.  We are pleased to announce that Chad Wiese will join VASD in this role. He will oversee finance, operations, buildings and grounds, food service, human resources, athletics, staff that manages aquatics, performing arts, and safety and security. 

Mr. Wiese joins VASD with a strong 23 years of experience and will transition from his current role as the Executive Director of Building and Administration Services for Madison Metropolitan School District. In MMSD, Chad has led with a student-centered equity approach and was instrumental in leading a successful $317 million facilities referendum. Prior to his current role, he held several roles at La Follette High School in Madison, as a principal, assistant principal, dean of students, athletic director, and head football coach. Additionally, Chad served as a science teacher at Madison East High School.

He is looking forward to meeting you and working together in service to our students, staff, and community.  Please join us in welcoming Chad Wiese to VASD.
