Introduction to the VASD Nature Center:

Join VASD School Forest Coordinator, Matt Tiller, for a walk through the Nature Center prairie. After 50+ years of prairie restoration this site is home to a wide variety of native prairie plants. Explore the natural history and phenology of this site with attention to specific prairie plants of interest and the joys and challenges of restoring a natural ecosystem.

Stewart’s Woods School Forest Walk:

Join VASD School Forest Coordinator, Matt Tiller, for an interpretive walk through Stewart's Woods. We will use the tree species present in the woods, their age and make-up, to tell the story of this unique woodland. Learn how this woodland fits into the larger landscape of the Verona area while considering the educational potential of our newest natural area.

Where: Located on the southern part of the VAHS campus, Stewart's Woods

VASD Nature Center Work Day:

Join VASD School Forest Coordinator, Matt Tiller, for a work day in the VASD Nature Center prairie/wetland. Be a part of our prairie restoration efforts by helping to eradicate invasive shrubs and collect native seeds for dispersal. Work parties give you an opportunity to learn what is required for restoring and maintaining prairie habitats.
