Sign into Powerschool Parent Portal on a web browser: Unfortunately, Summer School Registration is not possible from the PowerSchool app, but you can still use a mobile browser on your cell phone or tablet, or you can use a computer. The web address is: vasd.powerschool.com

Great question! You’ll start by clicking the “Summer School Schedule” link at the bottom of the left sidebar.

This will take you to the Student Schedule Creator screen.

Summer School is organized into three sessions- Session A (6/20-6/30), Session B (7/10-7/21), and Session C (6/20-7/21). To sign up for a class in Session A, click the top “Course Options” button. To sign up for a class in Session B, click the bottom “Course Options” button. To sign up for a class in Session C, click either Course Options button. 

Note: if signing up for a Session C class, you must have both Session A and Session B empty. If you have selected a Session A class, you will not be able to select a Session C class until you’ve dropped the Session A class.

Once you’ve clicked a “Course Options” button, a list of available courses will appear. This list will only show courses that your student is eligible for based on their grade level.

Mouse over the course title to see the name of the course in Spanish.

To register for a class, click the link for that class. Once you’ve clicked the link, that class will appear in your child’s schedule. If you no longer wish to enroll in that class, you can click the “X” button and the class will be removed from your child’s schedule.

If a session is full, it will say “(Section Full)” and will not allow you to click. Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Each student can do one of the following:

1. Enroll in up to one class for Session A and/or up to one class for Session B.

2. Enroll in one class for Session C.

Are there any exceptions? Could a student enroll in multiple classes during the same Session?

There is one minor exception– any High School student enrolled in Summer School Health class (Virtual) can also sign up for in-person summer school classes.
