Individuals who are aware of any person (age 3-21) with physical, mental, emotional or learning needs are encouraged to notify any member of the Student Services Staff. If you think your child has a disability, please contact the School Psychologist at your child's school.
For children ages 3-5 please contact our Early Childhood Psychologist, Maggie Pfeil at (608) 845-4817 or pfeilm@verona.k12.wi.us or complete the Early Childhood Request For Assistance form.
VASD works with Birth-3, community medical personnel, daycares, preschools, and families to identify students who may have a disability requiring special education.Screening is available upon request. This information is used to provide the parent with information about their child's current development and to provide suggestions for follow-up activities. Parents can also learn about community services available to them.
When there is the belief that a child is a child with a disability, they refer the child for an evaluation by a school district Individualized Education Program (IEP) team. Parents are participants on this team.
