Click the link above for the 2023-24 Student and Family Calendar. As we approach the end of the 2022 calendar year, we are excited to share the 2023-2024 Student and Family Calendar. The calendar includes district-wide dates to remember such as first and last days of school, days with no school, student asynchronous days, ends of quarters, and religious holidays recognized in Verona Area School District (VASD) administrative rules. The calendar will be updated with the 2023-24 late start information when that information is finalized.
On November 8, the Verona area community voted favorably in support of a $19 million operational referendum for the Verona Area School District (VASD). We are beyond grateful for the community’s support of public education and their trust in our educators and the Board of Education to deliver on the promise of a world-class education grounded in equity. The funds made available through the referendum will allow VASD to provide rich programs and specialized services, robust curricular offerings, desirable staff to student ratios, and retain and recruit high quality staff. We genuinely enjoyed the opportunity to reach into the Verona area community and interact with so many people over the last nine months as we shared information about the operational referendum. We look forward to continuing to engage with our community so that we may meet and exceed your expectations of providing a world class education to our 5,800 scholars.
Last year, our administrative and human resources teams collaborated with our Student Advisory Group, Staff Advisory Group, and Parent Advisory Group, held listening sessions, completed building walkthroughs, and collected survey results from students, families, and staff. We used this data to consider how to best organize staff to serve all students, decrease educator workload, and function coherently.
