Two Way Immersion Program
Verona Area School District is proud to introduce a new Two-Way Immersion Program option for parents to consider for their children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2013. Students will learn 50% of their academic content in Spanish and 50% in English. VASD plans to enroll an equal number of native English speakers and native Spanish speakers, who will learn together throughout the school day.
The goals for students in the program are: to achieve a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in both English and Spanish, to attain academic achievement levels equal to or exceeding state standards, and to foster positive cross-cultural attitudes and behaviors throughout the school and community.
