The app is updated by the minute, allowing you to plan on being at the bus stop in plenty of time, while also helpful on weather delay days or situations where Badger Bus needs to communicate a message through the app to families on a specific bus delay.

Special Note on VASD's walking distances:
The Verona Area School District’s board policy on transportation eligibility stands at 1.25 miles or more for students K- 5 and 2.0 miles or more for students in grades 6 – 12 (exceptions are made for students who need to cross “hazardous” transportation corridors determined by Dane County Sheriff’s Dept.)

The means of determining the distance to a school is by use of Google Maps, walking distance, which utilizes available bike/pedestrian paths. There are a small number of households which Badger Bus deems as walkable even though Google maps shares that household as transportation eligible (meaning the walk is farther than district policy states per age group). This occurs because Google often directs a student to a front door of the school building, causing a considerable extra walking distance. To help address this situation in these specific neighborhoods, Badger Bus has worked with the school district to list the following addresses for parents to enter in Google maps when trying to determine if your student is eligible for transportation or is within walking distance:

-New Century and Sugar Creek students should use the New Century address (401 W. Verona Ave.)
-Verona Area High School students should use 308 N. Main St. as the school's address
-For Badger Ridge Middle School and Core Knowledge Charter School students, use 105 Llanos St. or 467 Basswood Ave. as the school's address depending on the location of your household from the school

If you have questions on your student(s) distance or walking path to their school, please contact Badger Bus’ Brenda Anderson at 608-310-4869 or brendak.badgerbus@gmail.com

•Transportation Request Form (only an option for K-12--NOT AVAILABLE for Pre-K)
If you are filling out the Transportation Request Form, there may be a fee associated with requests for alternate location and attendance area transportation. Requests for new in-district transportation that falls within VASD transportation guidelines will not have any associated fees. Some requests may not fall under the Verona Area School District transportation guidelines. If Badger Bus Lines approves the request there is no guarantee Badger Bus Lines can provide the transportation as several things must be taken into consideration:
•There must be capacity available for the student on the bus (not an option for Pre-K bus riders)
•Badger Bus Lines has a zero tolerance for inappropriate bus behavior for special requests.
•All special requests need to be resubmitted for each school year.
