New Century Students Not Only Act Out Gameshow, But Also Re-enact Historical Events

For 13 years at New Century Charter School, Mr. Lohr's 5th grade history class has had the tradition to combine literacy and reading fluency with the fun of learning history.

Mr. Lohr, with the help of his 17 students, writes the script for the 40 minute gameshow, but creatively builds in historical events that are played out by student actors including the Battle of Gettysburg and the Boston Massacre. The students even research costumes, props, etc. to fit their part.

All New Century classes attended the show as well as upper level Sugar Creek elementary classes (adjoining school).
