High School teacher Tracy Burandt took two classes of Wilderness students down the Wisconsin River for a canoe and hiking expedition, offering students the chance to work together, play together and have a blast WITHOUT any technology surrounding them.
Many students had never canoed before, with statements being shared like:
"I have never done this before, and now, this is all I want to do this summer!"
"I never even talk to some of these kids, but here we are, working together against this current!"
"This water looks so beautiful! I just look down and want to jump right in!"
"Why don't we do this more often, I am learning so much about life today!"
