This is the image for the news article titled "Helping Hands" Holiday Gifts for District Families in Need Whether you are a Verona Area School District family in need, or if you desire to donate a gift for a child in need, the Verona Area High School FFA club and district-wide school social workers, along with Joining Forces for Families, are sponsoring a holiday gift opportunity, “Verona Area Helping Hands”, for families in need with students who are, or will be, attending a school in the Verona Area School District. See how you can take part below:

Families in need
Beginning this year, families in need with students who are, or will be, attending a school in the district should click here to complete this electronic form before Dec. 2 at 4pm. If a family is unable to complete the electronic form, they should contact one of the individuals listed at the bottom of this page who works in their respective school.

Donating a gift for those in need
Each year the Helping Hands holiday gift opportunity is successful due to the many school staff, community members, businesses, and organizations that donate toys to this event. If you are interested in donating toys:

1. Stop by the office of your nearest VASD school and ask for a “Helping Hand.” Each paper “Helping Hand” has the age and gender of a child written on it. If you are unable to stop by the office, you can donate any new gift to the school office and the School Social Worker will add it to the toy collection (note that older elementary through high school-age gifts are often overlooked).

2. Purchase a new gift that is between $15-$25 and bring the UNWRAPPED gift to your nearest VASD school by Friday, Dec. 7th, 2:30 PM. If possible, please tape the “Helping Hand” on the gift or denote the appropriate age on the gift.

We truly appreciate your kindness and goodwill during the holiday season. Thank you.
