Glacier Edge 2016 Redistricting as Short-Term Solution for District Growth

Short-Term Board Decisions On Addressing January 2016 Glacier Edge Elementary Overcrowding:

At the January 11th and 25th, 2016 board meetings, the board made decisions to provide short-term relief for the overcrowding at Glacier Edge Elementary:
•Elementary students new to Glacier Edge (meaning no prior experience or siblings in Glacier Edge) in grades K-5 who currently live in, or move to, the area bounded to the west by Hwy 69, to the north by Hwy M (starting at Range Trail road) and all points south and east of those roads (including Shady Bend) will instead attend Country View Elementary School. •Elementary students in grades K-5 at Glacier Edge who currently live in the Quarry Vista South Stoner Prairie neighborhood will continue to attend Glacier Edge, while new families who move into this area will attend Stoner Prairie as their elementary school.

Communications to Affected Families of Short-Term Solutions
To communicate the short-term solution to those affected by these decisions, families (that we knew of) living in the HWY 69/HWY M area were sent a letter (click here to view), in addition to a postcard (click here to view) that was mailed to ALL households in that area. In addition, families living in the Quarry Vista area who currently have children in the school district were sent a letter (click here to view), as well as a postcard sent to ALL households in that area (click here to view). View Questions & Answers here.
